Binds phosphate for removal through protein skimming and mechanical filtration. Reduce phosphate in mature systems by 10% per day; observe inhabitants (particularly, scaleless fishes) during application for signs of distress and discontinue if necessary. Target 0.02 mg/L PO4 in recirculating reef ecosystems. Per 0.01 mg/L PO4: 1 mL per 1,000 gal. (1 drop per 50.0 gal.). Per 0.10 mg/L PO4: 1 mL per 100 gal. (1 drop per 5.0 gal.). Per 0.50 mg/L PO4: 1 mL per 20 gal. (1 drop per 1.0 gal.) Active Component(s): Lanthanum chloride, USP.

- In an effort to reduce waste, droppers and pipettes are available for separate purchase. For 30- and 60-mL bottles, bulb-style dropper caps with child-resistant features are available; these droppers dispense ~20 drops per mL. The alternative option is a US-made bulb pipette with 1.5 mL total capacity, ~24 drops per mL. All of these options are available for purchase on the main shop page. Note that the cost of the 30- and 60-mL bottles has been decreased due to exclusion of the droppers, and that the caps and droppers are priced in accordance with our landed costs. Droppers and pipettes can be re-used for the same formulation as long as they are maintained free from contamination. Cleaning droppers and pipettes is a simple process which consists of rinsing with running water to remove reside, rinsing with purified water to ensure cleanliness, and then storage either in the solution or in a location in which the item can be labeled for purpose and maintained free of contaminants. Using this approach, droppers and caps may remain viable for several years.
